This strictly regulated process requires each piece of jewelry to have at least 1/20 solid gold by weight. Gold filled has the same desirable properties and look of solid gold: it won’t tarnish, and wearers who are sensitive to certain metals can wear gold filled jewelry without worries of an allergic reaction.
